ALBUM RELEASE COMING!

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! WE HAVE AN ALBUM RELEASE DATE! My new full length album, “Lessons in Falling”, is set to release 10/13/17 on all major digital media outlets! Huge thanks again to all of the family, friends, coworkers, fans, and IndieGoGo supporters who helped me finish what I know is my best record yet! We only have a couple steps left to get it in your hands and the next stop is with Kevin Nix at L. Nix Mastering! In the meantime, I’ll be shooting for and collaborating on the album art with local famed photographer, Ziggy Mack, and creative concept partner and highly demanded hair and makeup artist, Faizah Husniyah. I can’t wait for y’all to hear this soulful new sound!

Whew! So it’s been awhile! A lot has gone down in my life the past 2 months (i.e. surviving what turned into a very severe case of viral meningitis and resulting hospitalization and slow recovery), so I’ve been a little out of commission and am catching back up on catching y’all back up on me! I’m doing much, much, better now and am back at about 85% of my energy and stamina, and as a result, I’m ready to announce some shows out on the road! The boys and I had a great time playing New Orleans last weekend for what was my first show back since I became ill and it wore my body out but was EXACTLY what my soul needed! With that being said, I can confirm that I am amped up and ready to go with the rest of our out of town gigs I’ve got planned for y’all! Over the next couple of months, we’ll be in Atlanta, Chattanooga, and Hunstville, and it isn’t stopping there, because now that I’m back in the saddle, the booking emails are getting cranked back out! Be sure to check the “Live” tab for tour dates and to find out when we’re coming your way! Live in Memphis? PERFECT! We have a show for y’all next Friday 6/23/17 at The Cove on Broad Ave. Show starts at 9pm so maybe I can catch some of you daywalkers this time around. 😉 In other news, **ahem ahem lemme clear my throat for this one**, WE’RE HEADING BACK TO THE STUDIO JULY 10-12 to mix the album and add a few last finishing touches at Music+Arts Studio (where I recorded my first 2 records) and are aiming to have the CD in your hand/on your smartphone by the end of summer/very beginning of fall! I’ll be checking back in over the next few weeks with updates on the release date, album title, and behind the scenes shots and intel from in the studio! I’m so glad to be back and so grateful for the fans who have supported me and prayed for me during these last few months. Your love and care really carried me through and now it’s my turn to give back! Love y’all! xoxo -FER

If you follow me on social media or subscribe to my monthly emails, you know that I spent my 29th birthday last month back in legendary Royal Studios (Al Green, Ann Peebles) recording the last 7 songs of my upcoming full length album. We had recorded the first 3 singles, released in 2016, last December and were beyond excited to get back into such a musically sacred space to record the remaining tracks. There is just nothing like being in the sound booth where Al Green recorded his hits–the vibe and soul is palpable! All we have left to do is get those Memphis horns and background vocals on the songs and the album will be ready to be mixed and mastered! With that being said, I am excited to announce that we have set a date and I will be headed to the studio of Memphis legend, Jim Dickinson (and his sons Luther and Cody of the North Mississippi Allstars), The Zebra Ranch, in Cold Water, MS with my producers Kevin Houston and Ryan Peel April 5, 2017 to lay down those soulful horns played by Art Edmaiston and Marc Franklin (the horns players for Gregg Allman’s band) and background vocals by Tikyra and Ava Jackson. I am beyond thrilled to be so close to finishing this album that you can expect out later in the summer! Making a record is such an exciting and fulfilling process, but it takes a lot of time, patience, budgeting, planning, and heart and soul to come into fruition, so to be at this phase in the process and getting to hear what this album is going to sound like is so rewarding to me as the artist and I cannot wait to share it with y’all! Stay tuned, because over the next few months I will be sharing more news like the album title (yes, it has already been selected), release date, and more tour dates as I am currently booking shows throughout the summer and fall in promotion of the release!
